The Observatory disseminates in near real time, through this web page, graphic results of atmospheric and marine data collected at the observation station (OOCS Station).
The data disseminated, along with publication of related events, are expected to be of public interest. Data can also can be used for academic and scientific purposes.
Integration of marine and atmospheric OOCS data to the European data exchange system (EU-SEPRISE project) coordinated by Euro-GOOS is in progress.
The future of the OOCS, after the end of the project OAMMS in 2011, will depend upon available support provided by the CSIC, the Ministry and/or any other potential national or international funding sources.
The Observatory aims at becoming a service for the scientific community and general public for local, regional and international meteorological and marine climate change projections. |

A typical autumn storm took place on 14 December 2009 (see Photo). For the first time a number of oceanographic and meteorological conditions over the sea was registrated by the buoy sensors at the OOCS station (see published data ).
We really wish that future storms and other meteorological and oceanographic events in the coastal area off Blanes will be monitored through the marine observatory OOCS.
